Crispy Golden Baked Chicken Cutlets with Bakers Street Golden Bread Crumbs
Bakers Street Golden Bread Crumbs are a premium crumb that brings superior crunch, colour, and flavour to your fried, baked or air-fried dishes. Made from high quality wheat flour, seasoned lightly, they’re ideal for coating meats, fish, vegetables, and for creating gratins or crunchy toppings. In this recipe, we use them to make Golden Baked Chicken Cutlets — healthier than deep frying, but still keep that irresistible crispy coating.
Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), each about 150-200g

Salt & freshly ground black pepper

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

2 large eggs
-
100 ml milk (or buttermilk for extra tenderness)

Approx. 200-250 g Bakers Street Golden Bread Crumbs

Olive oil spray / light oil drizzle

Optional: fresh parsley, lemon wedges (for serving)

Method

Preheat oven & prepare chicken
Preheat your oven to 200°C (fan) / 220°C (conventional). If using chicken breasts, you may wish to butterfly or flatten them slightly to approx. 1.5 cm thickness for even cooking. -
Season & set up breading station
Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika. In one shallow bowl, whisk the eggs and milk. In another shallow dish, place the golden bread crumbs. -
Coat the chicken

Dip each piece first into the egg & milk, letting any excess drip off.

Then press firmly into the Bakers Street Golden Bread Crumbs until fully coated.

For extra crunch, double-coat: after the first crumb layer, dip back in egg & milk, then again in crumbs.

Bake the chicken

Place coated chicken pieces on a wire rack set on a baking tray (this allows air to circulate all around so the bottom gets crisp too).

Lightly spray or drizzle a little oil over the top of each cutlet.

Bake for ~20-25 minutes or until cooked through (internal temp ~75°C), golden and crisp. Flip halfway through if needed.

Serve
Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley & a squeeze of lemon. Perfect paired with steamed veggies, salad, fries or homemade slaw.
Tips & Variations

Fish or vegetables: Use the same method with fish fillets (e.g. cod, haddock) or thick vegetable slices (eggplant, courgette) for a crispy coating.

Air-fryer option: Preheat air-fryer to ~190°C; cook for 10-12 mins, turning halfway, until golden and crisp.

Extra flavour: Mix in dried herbs (thyme, oregano), grated Parmesan, lemon zest into the bread crumbs.

Spicy twist: Add a pinch of cayenne or smoked paprika to breadcrumbs for a kick.
